No churn Straciatella ice cream

Homemade ice-cream is always a great idea in hot weather!

That's why today we'll prepare no-churn ice cream with just a tad of coffee liqueur for even more creamy texture. The main star here are chocolate chunks, with their flavour underlined by the subtle coffee aroma. Ice cream is smooth and creamy, with no ice; but because this is home made ice cream without any enhancers, remember to take them out of freezer 30 minutes before serving.

You'll find a list of ingredients, method and approximate nutritional value below.

Ingredients

  • 600 ml whipping cream
  • 0.5 can (~ 200g) condensed milk
  • 1 chocolate bar (100 g)
  • 30 ml coffee liqueur

Method

  1. Chop 100 g dark chocolate with a knife into small pieces.
  2. Into a large bowl pour 600 ml cold whipping cream. Whip it with an electric mixer until doubled in size and slightly thickened. It should take about 5 minutes.
  3. Add 200 g condensed milk and 30 ml coffee liqueur. Whisk them in with an electric mixer.
  4. Add chopped chocolate. Mix the contents of the bowl gently with a silicone spatula until chocolate is well mixed through.
  5. Pour ice cream into a cold, 1.5 l glass container. Close it tightly and put into a freezer for 5-6 hours.
  6. Take the ice cream out of the freezer 30 minutes before serving. Decorate to taste.
  7. Enjoy!
